Lazy Day

Breakfast this morning was the most amazing spread, and most of it including croissants, jam, yoghurt and even a brioche loaf was freshly made by our hostess Nicole. I am so going to need to fast every day for a month when we get home but its so worth it- delicious.

Jack had requested a lazy day, so we spent the morning at our Argilly home. The kids swam and rode bikes, Jack and I went exploring (I jogged and he cycled) and we all generally relaxed.

We decided after lunch to visit the Imaginarium, an attraction dedicated to winemaking in the region and in particular the magic of bubbles. It was really well done, and not busy at all so we had the run of the place and they ran part of the show in English for us. Bravo! We got lots of cool facts and saw displays about wine making processes and tools through the ages.

The finale was a wine tasting, and one of my faves Louis Bouillot featured as it is made in the village just near here.  The company actually created the Imaginarium as a local tourism feature. They had many more varieties than you can buy at home, and Baz tried some yummy Pinot's from the region too.

We found the village square at the village of Nuit Saint George and stopped for a late lunch, where Jack ate the hugest and chunkiest ham and cheese baguette- and even more incredibly finished it all. It's a really sweet little town and the cafes were full of locals and tourists enjoying the warm afternoon.

We headed home with some fixings for dinner and spent the afternoon sipping wine by he river while the kids played- a great lazy day. Off to Beaune and a local market in the morning. Bon Nuit!
