Lake Annecy

We actually managed a decent rest last night as I figured out how to shut the window properly- Yay!

Here's a few pics from yesterday as we enjoyed a look around the old town of Annecy on a warm sunny afternoon.

The kids are in front of the most photographed building in Annecy, with a dark past once used as a Nazi prison. Here I am too!

The water is so clear and lovely in both the lake and canals.

Here's a pic for you Norma- an artist painting 'plein air'

And Chris, I know you've always wondered where the eurotrash buy their white kit for Bali- it's Annecy!

The evening was clear and still, and the kids enjoyed watching the ducks and swans in the canals.

On our way to the hotel to catch some zzz's last night, jack spotted space invaders, where we least expected them. In a shop window for a boutique full of undies! Everything was decorated with space invaders!

This morning we caught some rain and it was quite cloudy, but we still managed a nice walk including a local market before packing our bags to head to Samoens.

We survived more crazy French drivers and some scenic roads to arrive at our Chalet hotel.

We are high in in the French Alps near the Swiss and Italian borders. The town houses 24,000 visitors at summer peak (mostly French) and is clearly a well kept secret as it wasn't in any guide book I read. Will continue Samoens news tomorrow night night all!
