The kids used the train journey to catch up on some schoolwork, and Amy's buddies got to check out the countryside. There was a lot of crops and fields, especially corn and as we got closer to Dijon, sunflowers.
When we arrived at Dijon our rental car wasn't quite ready, so we wandered into the old town for lunch and a spot of shopping, including a raspberry and basil mustard- sounds like a great addition to a yummy summer salad dressing oui?
After our lunch we sorted the car out and after a few crazy minutes figuring out sat nav whilst driving on the right side in a strange city we headed out towards Argilly with only a couple of u turns required (I was navigating oops!). We found our new home for the next four days without any further trouble, and were given a very warm welcome by Madame Nicole, her two dogs and cat.
The kids were thrilled especially with the pets, but they soon found the pool, playground and some bikes to amuse themselves with. This place is gorgeous, and all ours for a few days until other guests are booked to share with. I'm looking forward to a few days rest with space for the kids to run, and a fab region to explore.
