It wasn't just fruit and veg that we found but poultry, sausages, handmade sweets, handcrafts and so on. The goods very beautifully displayed, and even though it was raining there were crowds of people shopping. Many of the stalls offered tastings of their products as we passed by. Heaven!
We easily killed a few hours wandering around and stopped nearby for a drink and some frites to keep the kids going. We spent some time looking through an art exhibition, Bryan found a music shop with guitars on display, and Jack found yet another 'Arc D'Triomphe'.
The afternoon was spent learning about Burgundy truffles near Marney de Fussy, featuring an interesting display about truffle varieties and how they grow, a movie showing their truffle dogs on the hunt and a tasting of truffle products- oil, cheese, parfait, ice cream and liqueur. Jack tried truffle infused oil, and Amy had his share of everything else.
Tonight has been another gorgeous meal, this time provided by our hostess and host and included the kids and 4 other guests here from Belgium. We didn't have many common words, but Nicole translated and her husband kept the burgundy wine flowing so it was a nice evening, and we have just flopped in bed with very round tummies. I have eaten more cheese in the last week than in all of 2013!
